A bit about the Pittie Pot Story:

I don't know about you, but I've tried EVERY natural deodorant on the market. Some work for a little while, while others don't work at all, even after reapplying throughout the day. All the while with each one claiming to "actually work".

I'm guessing if you're reading this, you're on the search for natural deo that doesn't give you a rash, keeps body odor away, isn't full of toxic chemicals and doesn't call it quits after a few hours.

When I got into formulating years ago, the first thing I noticed was that commercial companies will swap natural ingredients for a cheaper alternative. So why would they do that? The simple answer is-if a company can charge less than their competitors (or even just less overall), while still maintaining high profit margins- they're going to find a way to do it. The problem with those cheaper alternatives is that science doesn't always know the long-lasting effects they may have on our bodies.

When I started this company 5 years ago, I decided I would only use the highest quality ingredients. That also includes making sure my products don't expose my customers to things like plastic leaching. Therefore, you will see that all products will come in a glass container or food grade recyclable plastic materials.

So last year I got to work formulating a deodorant that feels soft, creates a barrier of protection, doesn't leave stains, and best of all keeps you feeling fresh all day. The name "Pittie Pot" was born when I was forced to use glass jars after several fails with cardboard deo containers. While cardboard may work for some formulations, mine is very different. The ingredients in Pittie Pots are meant to penetrate and protect your pitties, so you will find it's more of a dense whipped cream type consistency rather than a solid stick.

I've tested more cream consistencies, and they are much more effective than a solid stick. The skin just absorbs the product quicker and better. Kind of similar to a good lotion. A good lotion will leave you hydrated all day. Such as my "Hydra Mag" and "Hydrate me!" lotions containing hyaluronic acid, glycerin, castor oil and vitamins. You'll even notice with a good lotion you can even wash your hands a few times throughout the day and the hydration is still there because it's actually improving the condition of your skin.

Why I chose the ingredients you see:

Pittie Pots contain MCT oil (Fractionated coconut oil) a known bacteria fighter. Magnesium Hydroxide -another bacteria fighter. Arrowroot, a fine powder that will keep you dry, and raw honey. Why Honey? Won't that be sticky? Nope! Our bodies actually love honey - so it's absorbed quite well, and you probably won't notice it in the finished product. Honey has long been medically proven to even destroy antibiotic resistant bacteria. Honey is also a natural antioxidant that is high in vitamin C and promotes collagen formation in the skin. And yes, those pitties need skin loving ingredients too!

I also made sure I did not skimp on high quality oils such as argan, shea butter. I even added one of my favorite ingredients- BTMS 50! This molecule almost sounds like an industrial chemical, but it's actually a vegetable-based product that's completely natural. It's also an amazing additive when it comes to haircare products! So, you will see me use it often.  It's an extremely expensive ingredient, but again, well worth the cost!

All Molly Bubbles Pittie Pots are FREE OF:

  • Aluminum -Aluminum attacks your central nervous system. Several studies have shown that toxic metals such as aluminum, contribute to neurological issues by producing oxidative stress. "The jury" is still out on how much aluminum is actually absorbed by the body from antiperspirants- but if it can be avoided, why not avoid it?
  • Baking Soda -Baking soda is extremely alkaline (a whopping 9 on the pH scale!). When you apply a deodorant with baking soda, it raises the pH of the skin. When your skin's pH rises above its normal levels, it can cause irritation such as dryness, redness, itching, and painful rashes. If you've had a reaction from natural deo before - I can almost guarantee it contained Baking Soda. Some companies will say this is an aluminum detox reaction. I have personally not found any scientific evidence to support that claim.
  • Phthalates- the compound added to many cosmetics and nutraceuticals that help the good smell stick to your skin. Researchers have found that phthalates can alter hormone production. I never, nor will I ever use phthalates. Phthalates are easily avoided by using more expensive fragrances, natural fragrances and steam distilled essential oils. You will always find this clearly labeled in my ingredients section. Be mindful of purchasing fragranced products from other companies as well. If it doesn't say "Phthalate free" - it most likely contains phthalates among other contaminates.
  • Sulfates - Sulphates can strip away the skin's natural oils, and therefore disrupt the moisture barrier causing dryness and irritation.
  • FormaldehydeFormaldehyde is a known carcinogen. Even low-level exposure can lead to adverse health effects, including death.
  • Parabens -are used as a preservative in many deodorant products. Latest research suggests that even at low levels it may interfere with various hormones.
  • Talc -Talc is mined from the Earth and some talc contains asbestos, a substance known to cause cancers in and around the lungs when inhaled. It's obvious in deo form you would not be able to inhale talc, but why support the use of it? What about the workers that are exposed to it? Similar to a popular tumbler that contains lead... By manufacturing the cup itself, lead is being exposed to the workers and the environment. Lead then gets into the soil and crops and then entire populations are exposed. If we didn't support these types of manufacturing processes - then plain and simple, they would be forced to change.

Scent: Smells like warm cotton candy! (If you love this scent - don't forget to grab the matching Hydra Mag)

Directions for use: take a dime size amount out of the jar and rub under each of your pitties. Add more if needed. You'll find the cream will create a smooth barrier to protect you all day long from odor. Don't want to use your finger? No problem! Grab one of my cosmetic spatulas. These don't automatically come with the Deo because I still strive to eliminate extra waste whenever possible. I personally have found it to be easier to rub in with my finger.

Note: this is not an antiperspirant. You may find you will still sweat, but most people due to the high content of arrowroot and magnesium will actually feel surprisingly dry. (I say "surprisingly" because feeling dry was never something I felt when using commercial natural deodorants.) The gold lids only come with the 4 oz jars currently. The 2 oz and 6 oz jars are white metal lids.

Best practice: make sure you are consistent with gently exfoliating your pitties during bath time. Especially if you have been using aluminum deo for years! Aluminum clogs the pores in your pitties so that you don't sweat. Therefore, to ensure the Pittie Pot absorbs into those beautiful pores, you'll need to clear out that old aluminum residue.

I freaking love this stuff!

I am SO happy that I got this product, and so so thankful it works so well. First off, it’s so pretty to look at, it smells amazing! It really does help with the odor. Since using it, I haven’t noticed any BO or if I get a whiff and then I check I only smell the deodorant. I love it so so much! I can’t wait to continue to use this product and others as I can invest in more. Love love love this! Highly recommend!
